Today students in periods 3 and 7 were given a task called "Identifying Similar Triangles." No additional homework was assigned tonight and students will complete this task on Friday when we resume our classic schedule.

Today in class students learned how to determine when figures are scaled copies of each other.

Today students learned how to determine whether two figures are well scaled copies of each other by considering variant and invariant corresponding parts.

Homework: Complete #4-6 on graph paper. This was a half sheet of paper that I handed out today.

Today students worked in groups to complete applied problems related to using and identifying a scale factor.

Homework: "Additional Problems" worksheet. p. 149 #11-12 and p.150 #1-12. If you do not have graph paper to complete #11-12 you can get graph paper in class tomorrow and complete by Thursday.

On Friday, students took quiz 6 (ratios and proportions). No homework this weekend. If you did not complete any other homework assignments from last week be sure to do them over the weekend so that you can at least earn half credit.

I will be checking binders on Tuesday to award credit for homework, classwork and Cornell Notes study questions and summaries.

Today students completed the in class investigation on "Scaled Copies" and took new notes on vocabulary related to similarity.

Homework: Measure all length of the four figures passed out in class today using centimeters. Quiz tomorrow on all topics given for homework this week including the definition of ratio, proportion and proportional.

Today I passed back the Right Triangle Test and Quiz 5. You will see your most up to date grade on PowerSchool.

I reviewed answers to the homework for Monday and Tuesday. See below for answer key.

Homework: Workbook p. 379 all problems and memorize the definition of ration, proportion and proportional.

Today students took notes on key vocabulary related to similarity and continued to work on the "scaled copies" investigation they started yesterday.

Homework: Textbook 368 #3-20. I will post answers to the homework for this assignment tomorrow so that you may check your work before the quiz this Friday.

Welcome back! I hope you are all returning to school feeling energized, well rested and ready to put in some hard work in these last 10 weeks of school.

Today in class students were introduced to the new unit on similarity by using scales on a map and blueprint to calculate distances and lengths.

Homework: Textbook p. 369 #21-28 (Show all work) - Stamp
